Kick Back and Relax in Even More Style
The next time you visit our practice, you may notice some of your favorite "creature comforts" have undergone a transformation. Upgrades to our office's entertainment technologies include five new 40" flatscreen LCD monitors—one in the lobby and four in each of our operatory rooms. The new widescreen TVs in the operatory rooms feature high-quality, noise-canceling headphones, so you can block out the rest of the world while we work our magic on your teeth. What's more, we have installed High-Definition (HD) cable and Apple TV, enabling us to offer a huge selection of digital music, movies, and TV shows for your personal enjoyment.
So, what does all this new technology mean for our patients? Well, let's just say that, from now on, every visit to our office will be a digitally-enhanced experience! |

A Clean You Can Hear
OK, so maybe you can't actually hear how clean your teeth will be after just one use of the Ultreo toothbrush, which is now available for purchase at Dr. Foley's office, but it does use sound wave technology to remove up to 95% of plaque from those hard-to-reach areas. The combination of ultrasound energy, channeled through a patented waveguide, and sonic bristle action has been clinically proven to remove surface stains in just 14 days and to reduce gingivitis in just 30 days, giving you whiter teeth and healthier gums.
We have already seen remarkable results from patients who have made the switch. For more information on how you can achieve a higher level of clean for your teeth, contact the front office at 591-0294 or ask us about it the next time you visit. |

New Laser Technology Added
Recently, Dr. Foley's practice introduced the new Ivoclar Odyssey Navigator, a clinical laser technology designed to minimize trauma and discomfort to soft tissues and improve precision during restorative and aesthetic procedures, such as:
- Crown lengthening
- Frenulectomies (treating someone who is "tongue-tied")
- Re-contouring the gum line
- Performing biopsies
- Treating lesions and aphthous ulcers
- Treating periodontal disease
Advantages of the Odyssey Navigator laser include:
- Less trauma to the tissue than previous techniques (electrosurge or scalpel) means an increase in patient comfort and faster healing.
- Cell layers are not damaged as deeply as the other techniques.
- The high energy of the laser makes the technology hemostatic (i.e., stops bleeding) and bactricidal (i.e., creates a sterile area).
- The need to suture treated areas is greatly diminished.
Dr. Foley's practice has been utilizing lasers like the Kavo Diagnodent, a diagnostic laser helpful in detecting tooth decay, for several years. Now the Ivoclar Odyssey Navigator takes the use of this amazing technology to a whole new level. |

Cancellations: Please consider others before you cancel!
Have you ever wondered why we request at least 24-hours' notice for appointment cancellations? It all comes down to being able to provide a smooth, positive experience for all of our patients. We do not double-book appointments, so if an appointment is canceled at the last minute, valuable resources go to waste, and other patients who might need immediate attention could be affected.
For example, if three hours have been reserved for a procedure and we receive a cancellation that day, our staff loses the three hours set aside for that patient, as well as time invested in getting the room prepared for a specialized procedure. If the procedure involves a prefabricated product, such as crowns, dentures, partials, inlays, outlays, and veneers, we may have needlessly incurred expedited delivery charges (to ensure that the materials arrive at least 24 hours before the scheduled procedure), plus the time our staff invests in unpacking and inspecting the products, to be certain they are properly prepared to Dr. Foley's exact specifications.
A canceled appointment is not always easy to reschedule, as our appointment calendars are frequently filled days or even weeks in advance. This creates a further delay in receiving treatment, and can also impact other "immediate need" patients who might have been able to take advantage of a schedule change, had more advance notice been given of a cancellation.
We understand that sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable, but we hope you'll bear this information in mind, and please know how much we appreciate your cooperation in helping us deliver the best possible dental care for all of our patients! |
